'Still Life with Guitar and Wine Glass', oil on board (circa 1940s - 1960s), by artist with the initials J.G. Another stunning cubist still life representation from J.G. This particular work depicts a guitar, wine glass and other items from daily life from our collection of artists from the School of Berlin. The impression is of a bird's eye view of a room looking down upon a covered table with patterned cloth. It is an artwork with colour and vibrancy at the same time showing some characterful, vintage age. The colours are subtle earth tones woven in with the dark grey backdrop - very elegant and stylish. Like J.G.'s other works we have offered for sale, this very attractive piece was surely inspired by Juan Gris (1887 - 1927) and Georges Braque's (1882 - 1963) cubist style. In fair vintage condition with new frame and elegant linen slip. The work is showing minor fading and blemishing commensurate with age. Upon request, a video of this work will be provided. Initialed in lower righthand corner: 'JG'.

About the Artist: Our gallery has access to a cache of paintings from Berlin in the 1940s - 1960s. Several galleries have acquired and are now selling these works which speaks to the widespread assessment of the quality and interest of the art by the artist with the initials 'JG'.
