'Riverview of Dinan', watercolour, crayon and pencil on paper (c. 1950s), by Robert Kervalo (1902 - 1974). Dinan is one of the most beautiful cities in Brittany in the western part of France. A medieval fortified town built into the hillside but also enjoying a river, it is a protected heritage site of France. This artwork depicts an autumnal view of splendid Breton architecture just alongside the river in the old port. The autumnal colours are magnificent with the backdrop of stone buildings and a cloudy Breton sky.
