'Reposing Woman Under a Parasol', oil on paper (1963) by René Hamiot (1912 - 1975). This is a colourful portrait of a woman, tranquil under her parasol, seated before a small table with a vibrant plant and potted tree. Behind her a small but elegant hut stands against a turquoise and silver sky. This impressionist style with splashes of vivid colours are a hallmark of the artist. In excellent vintage condition. Newly framed and glazed. Signed: '1963 R Hamiot' Another word - possibly the name of the subject or location of the work - above the signature is illegible.
