'Portrait of Man and Woman', oil on board, by artist with the initials STM, (c. 1950s). A splendid cubist delight, this portrait depicts an attractive young couple in angled torso and face. Painted with alluring flesh tones, several shades of beige and reds, all with a backdrop of muted teal. This painting reminds us of Picasso's self-portrait completed in 1907. Unfortunately nothing is known of this artist, STM, other than he/she lived in Berlin in the period after WWII. Artwork in excellent vintage condition in original frame with linen mount and reglazed. Initialed, 'S.T.M.' in lower left hand corner. Its pair also appears for sale on this site and together make an inspirational choice for your home.
