'Monywa' by Than Aung (2003)
'Monywa', watercolour on paper, (2003) by Burmese artist, Than Aung. Monywa is a region in Burma-Myanmar on the east bank of the River Chindwin. This is a delicate depiction of a rural scene after a seasonal downpour. Two residents walk towards their home amongst the palm trees thankful for the day's dry weather. The artist's mastery of watercolour as a medium is clearly evident in the detail of this artwork. The subtle hues used means this painting would be suitable in the decor of most homes and / or offices. In excellent condition, framed and glazed. Signed: 'Than Aung'.
