Mid-Century French ceramic vase by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s). A stunning and elegant vase, this exceptional piece is greenish-grey in colour with a distinctive glaze that exudes mystery. The 'primitive' animals and plant life depicted on the form are acknowledged as some of his most interesting work. They are splendidly represented, distinctive, and recall indigenous or aboriginal art from another era. The piece would be at home in a museum...or on display in your home. A unique find and a perfect piece for collectors of Jacques Blin and mid-century French artisans from Vallauris and beyond. The piece is in overall good vintage condition. Please view the many photos which accompany the listing. A video of the piece may be provided upon request.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. Blin frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works.
