Mid-Century French ceramic decorative mirror attributed to Atelier Les Cyclades, Anduze, France (Circa 1960s - 1970s). A ceramic frame with inset enamel decorative shapes form this colourful square mirror. The glass centre piece is enclosed by successively larger square frames, each decorated differently in orange, reds and dark brown. The effect is mesmerising. The mirror will be a strong addition to your home or work space. In very good vintage condition consistent with age and usage.
About Atelier Les Cyclades: Started by Roland Zobel, a native of Martinique and son of famous author, Joseph Zobel, he was credited with the rebirth of pottery production in Anduze, France which had a history of pottery making beginning in 1610. First with Atelier Les Cyclades, then later with poterie de la Madeleine, Zobel was most famous for his ceramic sunburst mirrors. It was rare that a piece was signed Les Cyclades. Zobel died suddenly in 2004.
