Mid-Century Ceramic Table Lamp by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s) - Small
SKU 0676
Mid-century ceramic table lamp (circa 1950s) by Jacques Blin. This diminutive beautiful powder-blue French lamp (c. 1950s) is devoid of Blin's characteristic sgraffito-etchings. It is instead, visually elegant and smooth to the touch. The piece is in very good vintage condition commensurate with age. Highly collectible. The shade is not included. The lamp has been re-wired for UK use. Signed on the underside: 'J. Blin'. Upon request, a video of the piece can be provided.
About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works.
