Mid-Century Ceramic Table Lamp by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s)
SKU 0666
Mid-century ceramic table lamp (circa 1950s) by Jacques Blin. This beautifully rust-coloured French lamp (c. 1950s) is devoid of Blin's characteristic sgraffito-etchings on its surface. It is exquisite, smooth and tactile and oozes charm. In very good vintage condition commensurate with age. Highly collectible. The shade is not included. The lamp has been re-wired for UK use. Signed on the underside: 'J. Blin'. Upon request a video of the piece will be provided.
About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds and animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works.
