'Man Strolling in a Village', French Modern School (1957)
SKU 1871
'Man Strolling in a Village', oil on board, Modern French School (1957). A single man in a drab coat is sauntering along in his village, his gaze, downward towards the pathway. Walking in this manner he seems oblivious to the eruption of colour all around. The sky is bursting in yellow hues, the homes, sheds and town's buildings are blanketed in vibrant blues, pinks, greens and yellows begging the passer-by to look up and ultimately, to savour life. It's a thoroughly modern depiction and a real attention-grabber. It is in good overall condition and has been newly framed with a French-style linen slip. Regrettably, the signature is located in the lower right hand however, it is illegible. The year of creation is clear (1957). Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
