Jacques Pouchain Ceramic Vase (c. 1960s)

Jacques Pouchain (1925 - 2005) left Paris and gave up his architectural training in the 1950's for the South of France to devote himself to art and his pottery studio at Dieulefit. He produced highly personal work and more commercial pieces as well both revealing a modern approach to pottery. This mid-century ceramic vase is elegantly glazed with a contemporary motif surround. Engraved 'Atelier Dieulefit', his workshop's signature. Excellent vintage condition.
