Vintage Italian travertine vide-poche / ashtray (circa 1960s). A very weighty and stylish piece consisting of a travertine square with brass edges and a concave circular recess. One can imagine it positioned on the corner of a New York advertising executive's enormous mahogany desk, more for its look than for collecting cigar ashes. In good overall condition, it has characterful markings throughout and an age-related patina on the brass outlines. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing.
