Gilt Bronze Table Leg Sculptures by Pietrina Checcacci (circa 1970s)
SKU 1751
Gilt bronze legs by award winning artist Pietrina Checcacci (circa 1970s). Although her art comes in many forms, these distinctive pieces come from a period in the 1970s and 80s in which body parts in close-up: hands, fingers, legs, feet and noses were central to her art. Of all of her designs, this one is quite unique in that the legs are meant to straddle the edge of a table or other horizontal surface. The heel on the subject's right leg acts as a support point on the surface. It's pure genius and so special. They were often created in numbered, limited editions such as these alluring sculpted legs. Fair overall condition (Edition 4/100) presenting some blemishing commensurate with age and materials used. Signed on underside. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video may be provided.
