French Mid-Century Decorative Plate by Roger Capron (circa 1960s)
SKU 1300
Mid-Century decorative plate by ceramicist, Roger Capron (circa 1960). Iridescent blue with an incised dove, this is a Capron style rarely available. The dove has been a symbol of peace for centuries. Picasso famously created a very limited edition lithograph with dove for the World Peace Congress in 1949. However, Capron's interpretation is devoid of lofty symbolism and perhaps more simply, is a just beautiful bird on a perch. In very good overall condition. Upon request a video of the piece may be provided.
