French Harbour Scene by Gerard Passet (Date Unknown)

Ink and watercolour on paper.  Gérard Passet (1936 - 2013) was an internationally recognized painter whose art is represented in museums, galleries and private collections.  His works have been sold at auction at Christie's, Sotheby's and other well known houses around the world.  A prolific painter of French river scenes, landscapes and other rural tableaux, this alluring harbour scene depicts boats at rest tied to their moorings under cloudy skies.  The skill with which the painting was executed is evident and the colours and perspective a delight. The painting is signed << Gerard Passet >> in the lower left corner.  The date of the painting is unknown.
