French Ceramic Table Lamp by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s) - Small
SKU 0731
Ceramic table lamp by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s) with original raffia lampshade. This beautifully burnt-orange hued, misty glaze lamp is trademark Jacques Blin. Blin produced many pieces in this colour however, this one is more rare in the sense that it does not have the fanciful etchings which are so characteristic of his pieces. Combined with its near-pristine condition it makes for a very collectible piece, and of course, highly desirable for your home or workplace. A rare find from Blin's mid-century French table lighting. Signed: 'J. Blin'. Wired for use in the UK. Upon request a video of the piece will be provided.
About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920 - 1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works.
