Ceramic Table Lamp by Jacques Blin with Raffia Lampshade (circa 1950s) - Green
SKU 0595
Ceramic table lamp by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s) with original raffia lampshade. This beautifully pistachio-coloured French lamp with sgraffito-etched leaves and branches is in excellent vintage condition and truly exceptional. Blin rarely produced pieces in this colour. Combined with its near-pristine condition it makes for a very collectible piece, and of course, highly desirable for your home or workplace. A rare find from Blin's mid-century French table lighting. Signed: 'J. Blin'. Wired for use in the UK however, adaptable to US standards. Upon request a video of the piece will be provided.
About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920 - 1995), an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures, plant life and whimsical abstract motifs in his works.
