Brutalist Aluminium and Brass Decorative Clock by David Marshall (circa 1980s)
0730
An aluminium and brass brutalist style decorative table clock by David Marshall (circa 1980s). The piece is weighty and wonderfully tactile with the maker's mark impressed on the front brass frame surrounding the clock face. The clock's original time-keeping mechanism as well as its hands have been replaced. David Marshall's works are elegantly rugged, beautifully trodden and often irregularly formed. In this case the clock is symmetrically squared but it looks like it's had a rough life and therein lies its beauty. Raw, brutal and beautiful. This piece is in good vintage condition with characterful marks and an aged patina consistent with its age and usage. The clock is in working order with newly installed battery operated mechanism. Upon request a video of the clock may be provided.
