'Abstract Composition' by E. Roth (circa 1950s-70s)
SKU 0915
'Abstract Composition', oil on board, by E. Roth (circa 1950s-70s). This artist was clearly inspired by the cubists. They used angles, lines and vibrant colours to create an entirely new dimension to their painting. Cubists abandoned perspective and realism, instead portraying figures and objects from various angles like geometric planes. Geometric shapes project towards the viewer powered by the vibrant colours in the piece. The work is in fair vintage condition commensurate with age. It has been newly framed with a linen slip to complement the piece. Please carefully view the accompanying photos to best assess the condition and style of the work. Upon request, a short video clip of the piece may be provided.
Signed 'E. Roth' in the lower left hand corner, the precise background of the artist is unknown. This gallery's source indicates the piece was acquired in Berlin, Germany. Notwithstanding the uncertainty of an unknown artist, several galleries have acquired and are now selling works such as this one emanating from the School of Berlin. It clearly speaks to the widespread assessment of the quality and interest of the art.
