'The Sun-Worshippers', acrylic on canvas attached to a larger stretched canvas, by Pandi (I Nyoman Sutaria), 2015. The intensity of this artwork is derived from its vividly warm colours: red-orange, yellow and scarlet, and energetic connection to artists like J-M Basquiat. This is the same warmth the sun-worshipping figures in the painting receive from the fiery halo above. Mesmerised by these colours, the viewers of this painting - like its characters - can't help but be held captive to its energy and light. What appears to be red tape holding the smaller canvas on to the larger one, is simply a clever visual trick - a trompe l'oeil - a small visual gift from the artist to the viewer. This painting is in very good condition. Upon request, a video clip of the work may be provided. Signed: 'Pandi 2015' in upper lefthand corner.

About the Artist: I. Nyoman Sutaria, better known as Pandi (born 1980), artist from Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. He paints birds in all his compositions as a symbol of freedom and peace and because his family's relationship of trust with these creatures when he was growing up. Pandi's art is a manifestation of his freedom of expression with bright colours, lines, shapes and figures that know no bounds.
