'Portrait of Nude Redhead', oil on canvas, circa 1940s, by Louise-Jeanne Cottard-Fossey (1902 - 1983). A young, red-headed woman poses for the artist. Her shyness is apparent. Demure, reserved and somewhat uncomfortable as the centre of attention, the blush in her cheeks conveys what she won't with her words. Her reservation, be that as it may, is eclipsed by her vibrant thicket of russet hair. It is that contrast which the artist so beautifully captures. In excellent vintage condition, framed and signed: 'Cottard-Fossey'. A short video clip of this work can be provided upon request.
