Vintage French Ceramic Table Lamp by Marcel Giraud (circa 1960s)

A striking mid-century ceramic table lamp by Marcel Giraud, crafted in Vallauris, France during the 1960s. About the Artist: Marcel Giraud (born 1937), from Vallauris, France left school at the age of 13 to become an apprentice potter at the workshop of Blaise Rubino. He later worked at several other workshops in the area until he opened his own studio in 1960 creating mostly utilitarian ware. Since 1975 Giraud has taken up painting, sculpture and continues to create sculptural figures, animals and other decorative objects in his retirement.
