Vintage Italian Serving Trolley / Bar Cart by Cesare Lacca (circa 1950s)

SKU 0769

Vintage Italian serving trolley / bar cart (circa 1950s) - Mid-century chic, modern style and pure elegance in wood, brass and glass. Wheel your drinks and snacks out in style on this elegantly attractive piece of design history. The two horizontal surfaces have brass framing and three bottle holders on the lower level. A richly-coloured, elegant wood covers the handles and legs. Upon removal of glass pieces the trolley folds for storage. The brass and wood sport a characterful, aged patina throughout with some wear, scratches and minor blemishing - all that character attesting to its intriguing past. Overall in fair vintage condition commensurate with age and usage. Upon request a video of the trolley will be provided. *This item does not qualify for free worldwide shipping. Please enquire.

About the Maker: Born in Naples in 1929, Italian architect-designer Cesare Lacca created modernist furniture and metalwork throughout the 1950s. Lacca designed a great many tea carts and serving trolleys in his career as well as magazine racks and coffee tables. Almost all of Lacca’s known designs were created in the 1950s. Today, Cesare Lacca is appreciated for his contribution to the Italian design identity; his ability to fashion brass into the Italian postwar design conversation; and his timeless, highly sought-after serving trolleys.
