Coffee table with leaf motif earthenware tiles by Roger Capron (circa 1970s). This charming oval-shaped table is a quintessential example of collectible Capron. There are nature-themed tiles with a variety of beautiful leaves impressed into the earthenware top. The legs are sturdy, tubular-shaped, wood - simple, functional and rugged. A unique piece of Capron history for connoisseurs of this celebrated master and for those looking for an original piece for their home or workplace. In good overall condition commensurate with age and usage. Stamped on the table surface with maker's mark. Please note: The tiles have characterful blemishes, nicks and scratches along with an aged patina. The wood also has age and use-related minor nicks and scratches as well. About the Artist: Roger Capron (1922-2006), who founded the craft-based workshop in Vallauris, France, l'Atelier Callis, where his creations contributed to a veritable renaissance of pottery and ceramics.
