Vintage French Coffee Table with Ceramic Top by Roger Capron (circa 1970s)
SKU 2461
A classic and collectible rectangular coffee table by renowned French ceramicist Roger Capron, created in the 1970s in his Vallauris workshop. The tabletop is composed of Capron’s distinctive terracotta-hued tiles, many of which are impressed with delicate botanical forms — ferns, leaves, and flowering stems — a hallmark of his celebrated “Garrigue” series. Set into a clean-lined black metal frame with corresponding straight legs, the table strikes a balance between rustic charm and mid-century modern restraint. The natural tones of the tiles evoke the warm Provençal landscape, while the organic imprints lend a poetic, textural depth to the surface. This piece is a superb example of Capron’s unique vision: combining artisan tradition with modern design to produce lasting functional art. Ideal as a coffee or accent table in a curated interior. The table is in good overall condition with evident, age-related blemishes which only add to the vintage charm of the piece. Signed. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided.
