Decorative Ceramic Plate by Robert Perot, founder of the pottery, Vieux Moulin (circa 1950s), Vallauris, France. Exquisite design with geometric shapes in very muted shades of brown, blue, yellow and green. This is an authentic, collectible mid-century modern pottery piece with wall-hanging holes if that is your preferred display method. The underside of the bowl shows the maker's mark which is impressed to the base: 'Vieux Moulin Vallauris'. It is in good vintage condition commensurate with age. Upon request, a short video clip of the piece may be provided.

About the Artist:  Robert Perot (1931-2003) was a French sculptor and ceramicist. In 1954 he moved to Vallauris in the south of France and set up the Vieux Moulin pottery studio which continued until the 1970s. After that period he moved away and focused on sculpture. Vallauris became famous as a pottery town after Picasso moved there to take up ceramic design in 1948. Other leading potters like Roger Capron and Robert Picault moved there as an art pottery community developed around Picasso. Perot exhibited his work alongside Picasso and these other artists during the 1950s.
