Modern industrial style ceramic vase (circa 1970s) by Alessio Tasca (born 1929). Minimalist U-shaped ceramic vase in oatmeal-coloured glaze overlaid with a darker spotted motif. It combines an industrial look inspired by Japanese minimalism. Both a vase and a beautiful sculpture at the same time. In good overall condition. Original maker's mark on underside of work.
About the Artist: Alessio Tasca was born in Nove, Vicenza, Italy in 1929. Tasca is a world renowned prize-winning ceramicist whose creations appear in institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. His creations have been honoured in la Biennale in Venice and appeared in the Salone di Milano.
