Mid-century decorative fruit bowl by Albert Thiry (circa 1960s). A gentle green glaze encircles the exterior of the bowl complemented by a tactile repeating pattern in the lip. The interior of the piece is decorated with a stunning, large blue flower - probably a thistle -  and its leaves, over a glossy creamy white glaze. Both visually appealing and tactile, the piece would make an excellent addition to your home or workspace. In fair overall condition. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. About the Artist: Albert Thiry (1932 - 2009) was born in Nice, France. His family moved to Vallauris where he spent most of the school holidays in the potteries; in 1956 he was taken on as an assistant decorator with an opportunity to make his own pieces. Albert and his wife, Pyot, set up their own pottery in 1961. Their standard production, in Vallauris clay with added grog to emphasise rusticity, resulted in delightful pieces both highly elaborate and utilitarian.
