A slightly chalky-white rounded form with a narrow neck provides the structure for this stunning lamp's features. The cut-out geometric openings - circles, squares and rectangular apertures - are a signature feature of Pelletier's work, designed to cast dramatic light patterns when lit. The dotted surface decoration arranged in clusters is very typical of his style. The unrefined texture is also very much his aesthetic. And although this is one of his unsigned pieces, there is no doubt of its origins. Its lamp fitting is vintage and is currently wired with a French plug from that era. It functions perfectly and the wiring can be easily modified with a different plug for your location. It is in overall good condition consistent with its age and usage. Please enjoy the many photographs accompanying the listing. Upon request a video will be provided. He started his training at the Academy Charpentier in Paris (School of Arts and Crafts) in the building which is now the Picasso Museum. After that period, Pelletier worked at the Atelier Claude Pantzer, the renowned Accolay pottery. In 1961 the artist opened his own studio in Paris where he created his first unique pieces. His work was noted by the Bobois furniture house for his evident creativity and talent and was subsequently asked to supply Roche Bobois with their lighting collections between 1961 and 1973. In 1973 Pelletier followed the sun to the South of France in the city of Cannes where he set up a new workshop where his son is still active today.

Dimensions:

H 24 cm / 9.4" (of ceramic not incl. bulb fitting)

Dia 21 cm / 8.3"

https://bialondon.com/products/vintage-french-ceramic-table-lamp-attributed-to-georges-pelletier-circa-1970s
