Decorative ceramic box (Décor Arbre) by the Cloutier brothers (circa 1970s). A stylised line of hilltop trees over a mauve background covers the oval-shaped decorative box. Although it is a beautiful decorative object, it certainly may be used as a multi-purpose box in the home or office. In good vintage condition commensurate with age. Upon request, a brief video may be provided for context.

About the Designers: Jean and Robert Cloutier are called the twin brothers of ceramics. After having apprenticed for Lafourcade, Rivière, Georges Jouve and Pol Chambost, the brothers created their own workshop located in Paris in 1955. They produced both functional and dreamlike decorative objects. After Paris and a brief interlude in the town of Yonne, France, the Cloutiers put down roots in the Languedoc region of southern France. Forever refining their ceramic processes, they are considered to have perfectly mastered their profession and are held in the highest esteem.
