Vintage French ceramic vase by Jacques Blin (circa 1950s). In an elegant, elongated shape with a small open collar, this diminutive piece by Blin is a work of art. Using a shade of very subtle misty green as backdrop, the artist decorated the piece with incised leaves. Rarely does one encounter a ceramic by this artist with this particularly subtle shade of green. Signed on the underside: 'J. Blin'. In good overall condition. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying the listing. Upon request a video of the piece may be provided.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995) was an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures and whimsical abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "J. Blin". A comprehensive book of the works of Jacques Blin has recently been released in both French and English: 'Jacques Blin, Ceramiste & Porteur d'Histoires' by Christine Lavenu.
