Vintage French ceramic decorative pitcher / decanter / vase (circa 1950s) by Jacques Blin. The vase is in a subtle aubergine hue covered in Blin's trademark misty glaze. It is decorated with several bands of geometric shapes around the main body. There is a tactile element to the piece as these shapes have been incised into the piece. So creative in a much sought-after style and becoming more difficult to acquire. In good overall condition. Signed: 'J. Blin' on the underside base along with 'Exampl 156'. This refers to the model number of the piece. Please enjoy the many photos accompanying this listing. Upon request a video may be provided.

About the Artist: Jacques Blin (1920-1995) gave up a career in engineering for his love of the visual arts. Blin has an immediately recognisable style characterised by a more or less misty appearance of the glaze and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently depicted fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures and abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "J. Blin".
