Mid-century French ceramic apothecary jar by Gustave Reynaud for Le Mûrier (circa 1950s). A seductive piece with Reynaud's signature style, chalk-white colour with red flower and foliage painted motif. A charming bell-shaped cover with painted red band adds interest and links the two pieces. The team of Reynaud and his famous brother-in-law, Jean Derval, combined to design and make Le Mûrier's best pieces and this is a beautiful example of their work. In very good vintage condition commensurate with age. The interior of the jar is immaculate. Maker's mark on the base, Le Mûrier's trademarked mulberry leaf. Upon request, a video of the piece can be provided. Please see the many accompanying photos of the piece in this listing.
