French ceramic vase by Gustave Reynaud, Le Mûrier (circa 1950s). This delightful flower vase is a work of art in the trademark style of Gustave Reynaud. On the rustic exterior you will find charming foliage with baby blue and mulberry coloured blades and the darker branches. The surface glaze consists of a chalky white base and a muted but appealing sheen. The interior surface reveals horizontal bands coinciding with the potter's fabrication marks. Utterly charming and delightfully attractive, this piece will be a lovely addition to your home or workplace. In good vintage condition. Maker's mark on underside of piece. Please see the many accompanying photos to appreciate the aesthetic qualities and condition of the piece. Overall in good vintage condition with minor blemishes commensurate with age. Upon request, a video of the vase will be provided.

About the Artist: Gustave Reynaud (1915-1972) founded the pottery, Le Mûrier (Mulberry Tree), in Vallauris, France in 1955. He produced earthenware designed in conjunction with his well known brother-in-law, Jean Derval, as well as vases, wall plaques and anthropomorphic jugs. He also worked with the potter, J-F Descombes, and decorator Michel Barbier in their well known village in the French Riviera. After Reynaud's death in 1972 his wife ran the pottery until 1984.
